Robb Mackay,

JV Head Coach

Coach Mackay is entering his first full season as a Mira Costa basketball coach after several years of AAU and youth coaching. Robb emphasizes defense and fundamentals in his practices and loves to employ a pressure defense in games. Leading a mix of both juniors and sophomores his JV squad won the Redondo tournament this summer and are looking forward to a great season in 2011-12.

JV Assistant Coach

Coach Mackay returns for his second season as an assistant for the JV. A lifelong basketball player, Bob also brings his coaching experience at West Torrance to the JV team. Coach Mackay prides himself in teaching players to play the right way with a solid base of fundamentals and teamwork. A true student of the game Coach Mackay is a veteran of the original Los Angeles summer pro leagues where he played against the likes of Gail Goodrich and Pat Riley.
