A Message from Coach Neal Perlmutter
Welcome to Costa Basketball 2022-23!
The 2021 season was filled with tremendous success, and we are looking forward to an exceptional 2022 campaign. The Varsity returns with three All-Bay League players and a number of other key contributors. All levels have been working hard in the off-season as we gear up for the next campaign.
Last year Varsity was first place in the Bay League (18-7, 4-1) in the regular season, won the Ocean View Tournament Championship and lost in the 2nd round of the CIF playoffs. In addition, both the Frosh/Soph and JV teams won the Bay League, and JV completed a perfect 28-0 undefeated season.
We work hard on the Pillars of our Program (Defense, Dedication, Discipline and Decisions) that define our winning Mira Costa program, while transforming our student athletes into young men of strong character. At the core of Costa hoops is a focus on fundamental skill development and team play. We know that if you can help each individual player improve, the entire team rises to a new level.
In addition, Mira Costa Boys Basketball works closely with the local community to both support the growth of young players and youth coaches. Through clinics and camps, we share the techniques, strategies and drills that lead to success in game situations. We look forward to seeing you in the stands of our amazing new $40M athletic facility as we aim to win a Bay League and CIF Championship.
Go Mustangs!
